The NOC Automation and IMEI Database (NAID) has been launched to facilitate legitimate importers and local entrepreneurs by banning the import of mobile phones through illegal and smuggling routes.
NAID has been launched with the financial support of the Bangladesh Mobile Phone Importers Association (BMPIA) under the supervision of the Bangladesh Telecommunications Control Commission (BTRC).
Postal, Telecommunications and Information Minister Mostafa Jabbar inaugurated the service on Tuesday (January 22) at the BTRC building.
